Biography
In all that I do, I want to lead people into the presence of God, causing them to want a personal experience with Jesus Christ.
Music can speak to any heart, even the most calloused. This is even evident with Christian music, as Michael Brashear has seen since the very impressionable age of ten. At this time he began singing with the Brashear Family. During the almost 15 years he was with them, he had the privilege of performing in 45 states and 3 countries. Soon after, he went on to receive his degree in Music and Video Business from the Art Institute of Dallas. While in college he started his solo ministry in 1990. As a singer, songwriter, and minister, Michael’s passion is communicating the message that Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life that dispels the darkness for anyone. In 2010 Michael surrendered to preach the Word of God. Now he endeavors to use both the Word through music and the spoken Word to reach people for Christ.
Originally from Russellville, Arkansas, Michael now resides in Castalian Springs, Tennessee with his wife of 42 years, Cathy. They have 4 children and 3 grandchildren. They are members of the Hillcrest Baptist Church in Lebanon, TN.
A concert and service with Michael has something for everyone, ministering both to youth and adults alike. It ranges from Southern Gospel to Praise & Worship to Contemporary to Country Gospel and everything in between, including old and new songs. He does concerts, revivals, military base services, conferences, etc. With his convictions, love for music and people, God’s heart is felt through his ministry to encourage, lift up, and give hope to the church today and witness to a lost world.
